What is "Permanent Cosmetics" ?
Permanent Cosmetics, also referred to as micro-pigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, is a process used to implant sterile pigment beneath the epidermis and into the dermal layer of skin by micro-insertion. Pigment is typically applied to the eyebrow, eyes (eye liner) and lips leaving a beautiful, radiant and desired look.

Is it safe?
The art of tattooing has been practiced for centuries. One-time sterile disposable needles are used for each procedure and strict sanitation and sterilization procedures are enforced to reduce the possibility of infection or contamination. Any known allergies and medical conditions should be discussed with the technician during the consultation. |

Is it painful ?
Topical anesthetics are used which significantly block pain. Most clients report little or no discomfort. |

How long does it take?
Depending on the application, the procedure should only take one to two hours; longer if more than one application is being done. A follow-up session is included within four to six weeks to see if a touch-up may be needed, if so, the session should not last more than one hour. |

What is the recovery/healing time?
Typically 7-10 days, however, each client is different. Some swelling and redness can be expected for as little as a day following the procedure. Cold compresses will help reduce the swelling. The client will be given healing ointment and written after-care instructions which must be followed. Should infection occur after the procedure, the client should contact their physician immediately. |

Is permanent makeup really permanent?
The pigments used for permanent makeup are made specifically for permanent makeup application and are not the same as the ink used for body tattooing. The highest quality pigments are used, however, gradual fading is expected from all micro-pigmentation procedures over time. Typically, permanent makeup lasts for several years, however, the duration of permanent makeup depends on the client's skin type, medical issues, and short and long term after-care. Periodic touch-ups may be needed to maintain the desired look. |
